How effortless the long grass is when it is blown by the wind.

First blown this way, then that.

Never two directions at once.

Unlike me, my mind one direction, my boss another,

my emotions a third and my heart a fourth.

How effortless is the grass, which seems to bend to the will of another,

but it’s roots hold it firm and it hasn’t budged at all.

Are my roots that firm?

I do my best to hold onto You,

but I am tossed and turned and rolled and ploughed,

like a tumbleweed.

Help me make my roots strong,

so that I too can sway, but be unmoved.

Let my footstep be firm.

Let my action be precise.

Let my heart be sheathed in Your Light.
